David Elishayov, owner of the LID diamond corporation, has purchased Israeli optics chain Halperin Optics for $ 14 million. Halperin Optics will begin selling LID diamonds and gold jewelry through its retail outlets, reported Israel¡¯s daily Ha'aretz .

Elishayov also plans to expand the chain's activity in fashionable brand name sunglasses. Twelve new branches are planned for the chain, which already has 71 outlets, 400 employees and a turnover of about $ 30 million.
